We are proud to have J.Pechauer Custom Cues as a sponsor for the BEF. They have always been committed to our junior program and we would like to personally thank Steve Douglas for his continued support.

2013 marked our 50 year anniversary here at J. Pechauer Custom Cues... But how did we begin?

Our story begins with a single cue repair. In 1961 Jerry Pechauer was working under a truck mechanic apprenticeship for the International Harvester Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A fellow employee there shared an interest in pool and they played a match. A wager was made and Jerry was victorious. But rather than accepting money he received a broken Willie Hoppe cue as his prize.

Not knowing any better, Jerry purchased a wood lathe to make a shaft. With some creative alterations he was able to make a shaft fit that Hoppe cue. Next a drill press along with a lathe chuck allowed him to install joints. An avid pool player, Jerry took his love for the game and developed a hobby that would become a passion and a family business for himself and his son Joe.

Through the years Jerry and Joe continued to expand the shop, adding CNC machines and custom designed equipment to efficiently produce their own parts including a patented quick release joint screw and shaft insert, making Pechauer cues 100% made in-house.

In 2007, Joe Pechauer took over as President of the company while Jerry continues offering support and expertise on a regular basis.

A dealer base of 58 dealers in 1993 expanded to over 400 around the world in 2013 making J. Pechauer Custom Cues one of the top brands in the industry beginning with that broken Willie Hoppe cue in 1961.

We are proud to have The Billiard Congress Of America as a sponsor for the BEF. They have always been committed to our junior program and we would like to personally thank Rob Johnson for his continued support.

The Billiard Congress of America was established in 1948, with early involvement by players like Willie Mosconi and Willie Hoppe. The objective was to organize the players and promote the sport through qualifying tournaments at the local, regional and national levels in Straight Pool and 3-Cushion billiards (the popular competitive disciplines of the era) and recognize those champions. Organizers were also determined to produce an official rulebook to standardize the sport and help fund the effort; and to involve billiard rooms, retailers and manufacturers in meeting these promotional goals.

The Billiard Congress of America has the honor of being the North American representative to the World-Pool Billiard Association. As such, the organization is responsible for selecting players for world championships, rules and specifications input and other timely topics paramount to the sport and industry. This position permits the Billiard Congress of America to publish the "Official Rules and Records Book, World-Standardized Rules." The Billiard Congress of America also oversees the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame.

We are proud to have TLP Billiards as a sponsor for the BEF. They have always been committed to our junior program and we would like to personally thank Rick Tempkin for his continued support.

TLP Billiards started as an idea when owner Rick Tempkin, who had purchased a pool table for his new game room, was looking for accessory stands for his billiard products. Not finding anything satisfactory to his interests he created a prototype 8-ball rack and cue stick holder from an aluminum billet with an aluminum finish.

Doing some research to find out what the billiard industry had to offer Rick was surprised to find that most accessories where either wood or plastic based products. Metal was something that the industry hadn't taken into consideration over the years.

So Rick and his team at TLP Metalworks went into research and design for a variety of accessory products such as Wall Racks, Ball Racks, Cone Talc Holders and Floor Racks. A wide variety of colors and textures were added to produce bold new designs for the billiards and gaming industry in general.

A special addition to the national tournament continues in the magnetism and competitive challenge of “artistic pool”, says
