On June 7th we held the Connecticut State Junior Pool Championships at Yale Billiards in Wallingford Ct. We had a great time. Bobby Hilton and the staff helped make it a great experience. This was stop #5 of the only junior pool tour in the northeast, the New England Junior American Championship Series (JACS).
On June 21 we will be holding our tour invitational regional championships. Everyone who has played in one of our 5 stop state championship series will be competing for $4,000 in prize money. Juniors will be competing next month for the national championships in Quincy Illinois. From the BEF National Championships in Illinois, the juniors will be selected to represent the United States, on the American Team, at the WPA world junior championships to be held this year in Spain in July.
For our Connecticut State Championships Congratulations to Jacob Guevara for winning the boys 18u division. Jacob is only 13 years old and played very strong. Logan Tedford took 2nd place in the 18u boys division. Logan came through the winners bracket without a loss but was double dipped by Jacob. In the 14 under division, young Tanvee Vallem won in a nail bitter hill/hill match against Stephen Bao. A new player, Harrison Sure, finished 3rd.
Tanvee Vallem, Darragh O’Connor, and Keelagh O’Connor were the players in the girls 18 u division. All three girls have now won free entries into junior nationals in July.
