Str8 Shots Qualifies another Six for BEF Junior National Championships

On Saturday, April 20th, Str8 Shots hosted another successful qualifier for the 2013 BEF Junior Nationals at Antique Billiard Museum in Colorado Springs, CO. Over 20 young players arrived in hopes of qualifying for the upcoming championship in July.

In the 18 & Under division, 18-year-old Geoffrey Quezada of Arvada went undefeated to claim the likes of a $300 academic scholarship made possible by Str8 Shots. 15-year-old Joshua Bustos, who was already qualified for Junior Nationals, exchanged run outs with Quezada in the finals before settling for second and $200 in scholarship bucks. Kristiana Lievanos, the only girl in the division made her way to the semi-finals to take third and a paid entry into Nationals.

In the 14 & Under division, 14-year-old Tyler Casey came back through the b-side after losing his first match to 10-year-old Baron Mauro. Mauro had a great showing considering it was his first pool tournament ever. Both boys, along with second-place finisher Tanner Stoops, earned their way to Nationals.

In total, Str8 Shots added $800 to the event to be awarded in academic scholarships, and even more in entry and membership fees, and not to mention payouts in the open division. Colorado is more than fortunate to have the support and organization of Str8-Shots.com.
